Helping the Third Gender enter mainstream through Yoga

Lucknow: Under the patronage and guidance of the Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University, Professor Alok Kumar Rai, a yoga camp was organized for the third gender at Shivaji Ground, Lucknow University in the sequence of the tenth International Yoga Day 2024 under the aegis of the Faculty of Yoga and Alternative Medicine. Faculty Coordinator Dr. Amarjeet Yadav said that this community is also a special part of the society, this camp has been organized to connect it with the stream of health through yoga.

Dr. Yadav further said that different asanas and pranayama were practiced to prevent different diseases. Anulom Vilom Pranayama was practiced along with Veerasan, Balasana, Trikonasana, Paschimotasana for stress management. Katichakrasana, Padahastasana, Bhujangasana, Dhanurasana, Matsyasana, Mayurasana, Ardhamatsyendrasana for prevention of diabetes and Kapalbhati Pranayama was practiced in breathing and pranayama.

To prevent stomach diseases, Tadasana, Tiryak Tadasana, Bhujangasana, Tiryak Bhujangasana were practised. To prevent lung diseases, Ushtrasana, Gaumukhasana and Bhastrika Pranayama were practised and advice was given to consume proper food and adopt a systematic lifestyle. On this occasion, yoga instructor Dr. Ram Kishore, Dr. Ram Naresh, teacher Shobhit Singh along with students were present.
